Voices From Fairview
Voices from Fairview is a training video produced in 2004 by the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities. Featured are seven people who lived at Fairview Training Center in Salem, Oregon, which opened in 1908 and once housed nearly 3,000 residents before closing in February 2000. Former residents tell some compelling stories about what life was like for them at Oregon’s largest institution.
Interspersed with the interviews is footage from films created in the 1950’s to promote the virtues of the institution to parents and policy makers.
Running time 20 minutes.
