Dear Oregon I/DD Community Stakeholders and Partners:
You are invited to join our webinar to learn how the Office of Developmental Disabilities Services (ODDS) and the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities (OCDD) have partnered to gather input and learn from national best practices in our efforts to improve the process of how people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families access services and supports.The focus of this effort is making the service planning process more meaningful and helpful.
Oregon joined the National Community of Practice for Supporting Families (http://supportstofamilies.org) three years ago and has been looking at ways to use the Charting the LifeCourse Framework (https://www.lifecoursetools.com) to help people with I/DD identify and access supports that are meaningful to them in pursuit of their goals. As part of this process, OCDD
met with families and self-advocates across the state to ask them about their experience with the service planning process and ways it can be made better and more meaningful.
Join us for a Zoom webinar presentation to learn:
- How we have partnered to use the Charting the LifeCourse Framework in Oregon at both the systems and grassroots levels;
- What self-advocates and family members say works and does not work regarding the current Individual Support Plan (ISP) planning process;
- What we have learned from other states that have applied the Charting the LifeCourse Framework to improve the ISP planning process; and
- Next steps…
- Finally, we will answer your questions as time allows.
